Inspiration for Sugar Nellie

Good Morning Everyone!

Its the weekend, woo hoo!!  Hope you have something great planned.  I am here today to share a card for the Sugar Nellie blog.  The sweeties over at the Sugar Bowl were asked if  we could make a card and of course I said yes!  Here it is:

I have used the very gorgeous Winter Wonders Princess.  She was a dream to colour.  I have teamed her with some papers from Craftwork Cards but I am afraid I don't know what they are called!  They are very pretty though, not really a colour scheme that I would go for but I do like it!  I have used Lil'Inker Stitched Rectangles die and Joanna Sheen leaves.  The mulberry rose flowers and fancy button are from Hobby House.

I hope you like her and feel inspired to pop on over to Funky Kits to check out all the gorgeous images!!

OK, I had better going, have a good day and see you soon!

Cats! At MAWTT

Good Morning All!

Its been a while since I have been on.  You will notice that I am posting a little less these days. I wanted to take some time to enjoy my new home and surroundings, there are some lovely walks around here and although the weather hasn't helped recently, we hope to get out and about a bit more!  I am also doing a bit more cross stitching, I wanted to get back into this a little more this year!
But I will still be around most weeks, just not every day!  I will post some of my cross stitching as well if you don't mind!!

Today however I am here with my card for the new project at Moving Along With the Times!  Our lovely Janice picked them theme and she has chosen:

"Cats"

Some of our DT were a bit nervous about this (not mentioning any names Laurie!!) but I love them and had some very cute LOTV toppers which I decided to use!  Here is the card:

So cute!  I gave this card to my mum!  I have also used some LOTV papers and these are called Promises - NitWit Collections.  I have used a corner punch, Lil 'Inker Stitched Square Die, Joanna Sheen Leaves Die and SU Tiny Tag punch.  The mulberry flowers and fancy button are from the Hobby House and the ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you like my card.  Please pop on over to the main challenge blog for more inspiration.  Also would you please leave some love for our three new Design Team members - Anne, Emma and Sheena!

Oh and before I forget, Janice wanted us to show a picture of our own cats if we had any!  Some of you will know my little fur baby is called Coco and here she is:

She's the boss!!

Hobby House Inspiration

Good Morning Everyone

The start of another week!  I hope you all had good weekends.  We spent the time looking for some new bedroom furniture in the sales.  We think we have narrowed it down so just need to do some measuring and work out what we need!

Anyway I am starting the week with some inspiration for the Hobby House blog.  If you haven't been onto the blog recently then do pop over.  Jill has sent over some photos from the CHA and they look great!

Today I have continued with the Ribbon theme which is currently running on the challenge blog.  Here is my card:

I can't tell you how many times I took this photo!  I am still not happy with it but it was the best of a bad lot!!  The card in real life looks lovely.  I cut out a scalloped rectangle and used a selection of ribbons behind the shape.  I matted this up on a scalloped card base.  I added a ribbon down the side with a beautiful pearl ribbon slider.  The image is from Elisabeth Bell.  A full list of the products with a link to the shop are below:

Don't forget you still have plenty of time to join in with our ribbon challenge this month!  Oh and if anyone has any tips on how to photograph mostly white cards I would appreciate it!!

I would like to enter this card into the Ribbon Challenge at Allsorts.

Have a great day!

Hobby House Challenge - Ribbon

Good Morning Everyone and Happy New Year!

This is my first post for 2014 and it starts with a new challenge at The Hobby House.  This month the challenge is:

"Ribbon"

So we would like to see lots of gorgeous ribbon on your project/card!  The winner will receive £25 worth of craft goodies from the store!

Jill has a great selection of ribbon in the store so please do pop on over and check them out.  So onto my project and I decided to do something a little different this month. I always had in mind to do a ribbon wreath and this is what I came up with:

I am quite pleased it with it given its the first time I have done one!  And the colours are so pretty.  All the ribbon is a selection of what is available at the Hobby House store here.
I used a styrofoam flat backed ring, cut the ribbons into 3 to 4 inch strips, made a loop with them and pinned them to the ring.  I used the wider ribbon first and then filled in the gaps with the thinner ribbon.

The rest of the DT have made some amazing ribbon projects so before you do anything else please check out the challenge blog!

I would like to enter this project into the Totally Gorjuss challenge which is Anything Goes - Ribbons.

That's all from me today.  It still raining here (will it ever stop) but hopefully we will be able to get out and about a bit.  Last couple of days before going back to work so need to make the most of it!

Have a great day.

Love and Hugs
